ஆந்திராவில் சந்திரமுகி

ஐம்பது நாட்களை கடக்கும் நேரத்திலும் அரள வைக்கும் சந்திரமுகி...

Box Office: Chandramukhi Tops The Toppers' List

5. Bunny

Bunny brings another hit from director VV Vinayak stable. Another
college romance sees Bunny a.k.a Allu Arjun in love with Gowri
Munjal. There's some social context, a little politics and a good
dose of romance. It's a bit of everything that finally wins the day. Allu Arjun's dimples and Gowri's charm. This college
romance is at number 5.

4. Bhadra

With Ravi Teja on board, one expects enough action and Bhadra does
not disappoint. But the action man here is as the caption says, `a
true lover'. And the lady he's in love with is Meera Jasmine. It
might be a love story, but there is enough mayhem to satisfy Ravi
Teja's fans. And the romance can keep the others watching. After Dil and Arya, producer Dil Raju comes up with an action flick. The movie is at number 4.

3. Narasimhudu

After the high drama at Rama Naidu Studios, finally the much-
publicised film of NTR, Narasimhudu, hit the theatres on Friday
evening. The release had great expectations. But it was a big
disappointment. Another case of old wine in new bottle. This is a
remake of Kannada film Durgi directed by Ravishankar Prasad, who has also penned the story for Narasimhudu with slight changes.
Narasimha's (NTR) parents sacrifice their lives for the sake of a
village. The village then brigs him up and he is part of the village families. The movie is at number 3.

2. Athanokkadey:

A typical storyline is made to seem captive, thanks to some really
fantastic direction and screenplay. Debutant director, (Surendra),
really knows his game, what with neat split-frame shots and flash
shots used appropriately. Actor Kalyan Ram takes up production and
comes up with a winner. Athanokkade projects the actor as the angry young man out for revenge. In his quest for justice is the lovely leading lady Sindhu Tolani. While Kalyan Ram is seething as the assassin, Tolani matches him in her intensity. The theme might be old, but it has enough style and verve to keep the audience in the theatre. This stylish avenging saga is at number 2.

1. Chandramukhi

Rajnikanth is back and how. After the debacle of Baba, the superstar is back with a bang in Chandramukhi. This remake of the Malayalam hit Manichithra Thazhu shows the action star in his usual style. Even though the original was more about Shobhana, the copy is Rajni all the way. The female leads Jyothika and Nayantaras do justice to their roles. There are fights to please the masses and the psychological edge to please the classes. This thriller is at the top of the chart at number 1.
